The ‘Church’ is the gathering of the faithful in worship.

But we are blessed not just with a Congregation but with a wonderful ancient building, in a place that is home to Christian worship for more than a millenium.
This ancient building in its attractive historical setting of Coldingham Priory has been recently refurbished to a high standard.
Providing the Parish with a home for worship and other activities, the building and its environs can be accessed and used by other Christian groups or secular organisations.
The Church, with the remains of the Priory and community garden surrounding it, provides an ideal setting for spiritual and educational gatherings.
The good acoustics in the building lend themselves to concert performances.
Coldingham Priory Church now has disabled access and toilet facilities along with a full kitchen.  Flexible seating can accommodate 150 people.
The site of the Priory has been a place of Christian worship for around one thousand years and the present Church incorporates stonework from various ages dating back to 1200.  The Priory was granted its charter in 1098 by King Edgar; since then this outpost of the monks of Durham has seen both prosperity and the terror of warfare.  But Christians still worship here, and the present Church of Scotland congregation has brought the building’s facilities up-to-date.
