Can Science Support Belief in a Creator God?
Writing in the Huffington Post in 2006, the distinguished ethologist and trumpeter of atheistic views, Richard Dawkins, published an article entitled, “Why There Almost Certainly is no God.” While he concedes that science by itself can never prove or disprove the existence of a creator God, in his writing he skilfully uses science to support his case for atheism. His arguments disturbed me so I resolved to undertake a study to assess whether modern science could add to my knowledge and help support or detract from my belief in God.
My search for evidence is described in my book, “Reality, Science and the Supernatural” and what a rewarding search it proved! Initially I was taken aback by how much the science in which I had been schooled had become out of date. However my search led me through several works which were inspired, enlightening and stimulating to both the intellect and imagination. In particular. The discoveries of quantum physics have radically changed my view of ultimate reality. Learning from individuals who have studied both science and religion, has proved to be a most enriching experience. I can now claim that “There almost certainly is a creator God” and I invite you to read my book to decide if you agree with me.
